Policies:
- Confidentiality: All services are provided in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential and supportive holding environment to help clients to work towards transformation, personal growth and wellbeing. Information is not released to third parties without client permission. Exceptions to confidentiality are determined by law.
- Cancellations: I hold your appointment just for you. “No Show” or non-emergency cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will result in you being charged the full session fee. If you are too sick for a remote session and unable to attend, this is considered an emergency cancellation and no charge is incurred.
- Phone Calls: There is no charge for brief phone calls to clarify post-session instructions, change an appointment, or for agreed upon follow-up. Extended conversations will be charged a pro-rated fee per 10 minutes based on my hourly fee. It is always best to discuss your concerns during sessions.
- Emergencies and Crisis: If you are having a life threatening or other emergency/crisis, please contact your nearest hospital emergency room or the Alameda County CA 24 hour Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255, and leave a message on my phone noting your call is Urgent. Please note I am not available for 24 hour crisis support and emergencies.
- Emails and Texts: I use emails and texts ONLY for the purpose of setting up and changing appointment times and agreed upon follow-up. I do not conduct therapy or consultation via email or text. Any issues need to be brought to appointments rather than raised over email or text. Please do not send an email or text if you are experiencing an emergency or urgent crisis. If you do not receive a prompt response to email or text (within 48 hours except in case of me being away), please call and leave a message.
- Payment: You are responsible for payment of all treatment charges. Payment is due prior to each visit unless otherwise arranged. I accept direct bank transfers (Zelle, Venmo, PayPal) and credit cards through PayPal. PayPal has an additional associated fee.
- Insurance: I do not bill any insurance company including Medicare directly for psychotherapy services. Your insurance company may partially reimburse your Psychotherapy I will provide you with a receipt with a diagnosis, as required, for reimbursement. Your Insurance may not reimburse for remote services. Insurance does not reimburse for Shamanic or Energy Healing. services.
- Additional Policies: may be added to respond to new situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Clients will be apprised of and asked to agree to abide by any new policies that impact them.

Complementary Nature of Shamanic Services
Shamanic Energy Healing Services are offered to complement medical and psychological advice and treatment. All services are alternative and complementary to healing arts services licensed by the State of California, and are not intended to be a substitute for medical or psychological care.
Shamanic Energy Healing services are ancient methods that address the energetic and spiritual aspects of life conditions and are not licensed by the state of California. Although Girvani Leerer is licensed as a Psychologist in California (License #24631) and Massachusetts (License #7289), she is not functioning under these licensures when providing Shamanic Energy Healing Services, and she does not diagnose, treat or prescribe for any physical or mental conditions.
This disclosure is intended to fulfill the requirements of the California Senate Bill #SB577, passed in September 2002.
